1923-2023 Centenary Edition
by Jean-Marc Teissedre & Thibaut Villemant
This luxurious book of more than 360 pages is presented like an album of mostly unpublished photographs, arranged chronologically
Throughout its century of existence, every moment of Le Mans has been captured in countless photographs. From black & white to color, these particularly vivid images bring to life a whole world: that of the cars, naturally, but also of the many human players – drivers, engineers, mechanics – and the public, always numerous and varied.
The authors summarize the moments and actions of the key characters, identifying five major periods:
1923-1929: The time of the pioneers
1930-1967: Reconstruction and globalization
1968-1981: In search of the right solution
1982-1999: The 21st century in sight
2000-2022: A Modern Race
Text in English and French.

It was through model-making that this mathematics teacher became France’s greatest endurance expert. This vocation happened to coincide with the 1976 launch of the magazine AUTOhebdo, of which he was to become a fixture. Jean-Marc Teissedre is also the author of seminal works on this motorsport discipline, such as the official annual of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in addition to penning biographies of drivers such as Henri Pescarolo (ETAI) and Bob Wollek (Le Mans Racing) and multiple publications on the 24 Hours, including Les 24 Heures du Mans 1923-2010 (Le Mans Racing).
Having discovered the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the age of five, Thibaut Villemant subsequently joined AUTOhebdo in 2009. He was quickly promoted to senior reporter and served as deputy editor-in-chief until 2021. Together with Jean-Marc Teissedre, he is the author of the official 24 Hours of Le Mans annual, in addition to which he has published other works on the event and regularly consults for television.
