2017 Formula 1 Ferrari by Bburago

After seeing the results of pre-season testing,  pundits are saying 2017 could be a very ‘Red’ season in Formula 1. Bburago has taken over the Hot Wheels license for lower priced Ferrari diecast and has produced very nice models for the money their first two years. You can find their 2017 lineup in our 2017 Formula One Models section.

They’ve landed!

TSM’s 1/12 scale 1970 Daytona winning #2 Gulf Porsche 917K has finally arrived in the US, a mere 3 years and 4 months after it was first announced.

The resin model is mounted on a ‘carbon fibre’ simulated base, as were other recent 1/12 scale 917 and 956 releases from TSM and was produced in a Limited Edition of just 300 pieces worldwide.

$350.00 – Reserve HERE.

We commissioned a custom display case for the 1/12 Porsche 917 when the 1970 Le Mans winner was released late last year. Those cases have sold out but we have ordered a second run for delivery in April.

John Surtees

Another giant left us today.

John Surtees, a Champion on two wheels, four wheels and in life, passed away from a respiratory illness in a London hospital at age 83. After winning multiple World Championships on motorcycles, ‘Big John’ met the challenge of Formula One, becoming World Champion for Ferrari in 1964. Not finished yet, Surtees won the hotly contested Canadian American Challenge Cup series in 1966 in his Lola T70, becoming the first Champion of the legendary Can-Am. After retiring as a driver, Surtees became a Formula One Constructor. His beautiful cars also graced Formula 5000 grids here in the US and in other F5000 series across the globe.

I had the pleasure of meeting John Surtees on two occasions, after making arrangements for him to sign books and other items for Motorsport Collector customers. On both occasions, I was extremely impressed by the man’s gracious character and personality.

He will be missed.
