Response to last week’s Email Updates featuring 1/18 scale McLaren M20 and McLaren M6 Can Am cars from Tecnomodel was off the charts. If you have not placed an order as yet, we strongly suggest that you do so asap.

With the rather small Limited Editions that Tecnomodels is producing, we expect most, if not all, to be pre-sold out very soon.

The Hulme M20 is ‘wait listed’ at this time.

1/18 scale 1968 Shelby GT350H from Acme Trading

Even more 1/18 scale Pony Car announcements from Acme Trading Co!

They will produce 1/18 scale Limited Edition (350 each) runs of the 1968 Shelby GT350H ‘Rent A Racer’ in two colors, Dark Poly Green and Raven Black.

Details below:
“For 1968, Shelby rekindled his relationship with Hertz Rent-a-Car to resurrect their “Rent-a-Racer” program with Shelby Mustangs as part of Hertz’s Sports Car Club fleet. However, Hertz had wised up a bit since it ordered 999 cars in 1966, cutting 20 cities out of the program and scaling back marketing. As such, only 224 cars are known to be delivered according to the Shelby Registry, and this time they ordered them in an array of colors. The colors included Dark Green (Highland Green), Raven Black, Medium Blue, Lime Green, Wimbledon White, Candy Apple Red, Gold and Red”.
These rather small production runs will sell out quickly. Reserve HERE.
We’re also running a sale (15% off) on our remaining stock of 1/43 scale 2017 Formula 1 models from Spark and Minichamps. Click HERE for the list. Limited quantities.
And, last but not least, with today’s birth of our 2nd Grandson (in a little over 2 months), we’re able to set our Saturday hours for the month of July.
Have a great weekend!

Jim Clark: The Best of the Best

by David Tremayne

Jim Clark was a genuine sporting hero. He won 25 of his 72 Grands Prix and in the sixties was the yardstick by which every other driver on the starting grid was judged, and by which they judged themselves. Quite simply, Clark was peerless. Stubborn and notoriously indecisive outside the car, he would nervously chew his fingernails, but he was a genius when he got behind the wheel. To many he remains the greatest racing driver of all time, not just because of his fearsome strike rate and the magnitude and manner of his achievements, but also because he remained humble and unspoiled throughout. Published on the 50th anniversary of Clark-s death, this book, 20 years in the making, is a deeply detailed look at a complex and compelling character.

Bidding has begun!

Earlier this spring, thanks to the efforts of Marshall Pruett and the IndyCar community, over $20,000 was raised for the Wilson Children’s Fund through the auction of autographed copies of Marshall’s photo of the start of the 2017 Indianapolis 500. Each copy bore 46 signatures, including all 33 starters from the 101st running and a selection of racing legends, including Rick Mears, AJ Foyt and Dan Gurney.
Before the auction began, it was discovered that one copy was missing a single, yet very important signature and was held out until the situation could be rectified.
Now that this missing signature has been added, we are offering one final opportunity to acquire an amazing piece of Indianapolis 500 history while helping to secure a promising future for the children of the late Justin Wilson.
Bidding begins today and will close at 12 Noon Central Time, Wednesday, June 27.
