3/18/10 UPDATE: The 1/43 scale TrueScale Miniatures Tyrrell Project
34 'Six-Wheelers' are scheduled to arrive here at TMC on Monday.
The two car sets are sold out but the two individual models,

Depailler's 1977 'First National City Travelers Checks version

3/9/10 UPDATE: Just in from Minichamps, the 1/18 scale Martini
Racing Porsche 917/20 that took Herbert Muller to the 1974 Interserie
Championship in Europe. This car was, in fact, Porsche 917/30
chassis number 001, that started life as a test mule for the
all conquering Penske Panzer which dominated the Can Am season
in 1973 with Mark Donohue at the controls. Chassis 001 was loaned
out to various European teams to contest the Interserie in 1973
and 1974 and now exists as a museum piece. It was dubbed a 917/20
because it mated 917/30 front bodywork to the tail section off
a 917/10. The model is presented as the 1974 Nurburgring Supersprint

3/4/10 UPDATE: We've made our selections from the 2010 Minichamps
Catalog program and listed them HERE
on our Online Shopping website. As most Minichamps collectors
are already aware, accurate delivery dates are virtually impossible
to come by. We could see some of these models this year, others
maybe 2-3 years down the road. We are accepting orders for what
is listed and will not charge for reserved models until delivery.
If you saw something on the original 13
page list of new Minichamps additions but it's not listed,
give me a call and we will try to get one for you.

1968 and 1969 LeMans Winning Gulf Ford GT40 #1075 in both 1/18

2/20/10 UPDATE: Originally published as an open edition litho
in 1962, Michael Turner's study of Jim Clark at work is now available
as an artist signed giclee print. A copy of the original litho
edition occupied a place of honor above the double World Champion's
trophy case in the Clark family home (see photo below). Each
print made to order by and hand signed by the Artist in England.

2/19/10 UPDATE: If you grew up in the Chicago area, there's a
good chance you saw your first auto racing at Raceway Park, a
short paved oval located in Blue Island, on the city's South
Side (I did!).
Raceway Park, the 'World's
Busiest Track' officially opened its doors to Midget racing on
September 24, 1938 and operated for more than 60 years. The first
race was won by Harry McQuinn, who went on to compete at Indianapolis,
ultimately becoming the Speedway's Chief Pit Steward.
In 1948, 'The World Famous
Motordrome' added Stock Car races to its regular program. The
track became a popular attraction in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s,
with race programs scheduled 3 or 4 nights a week.
After falling on hard times,
Raceway closed in 2000 and was torn down the following year but
has not been forgotten.
Kalwasinski and Beck have
put together an excellent tribute to the glory days of short
track racing in Chicago.

Miniatures announced an attractive program of Tyrrell Grand
Prix cars and other neat stuff. Last week, CMC
sent out a 'Preview' of several new pieces on their agenda
and GMP announced a second
Ferrari 312PB for Spring 2010 delivery.
