With Dan Gurney Autographed Certificate of Authenticity

Mike Mosley, driving the AAR 'Pepsi Challenger' Eagle - Chevrolet, shocked the racing world by qualifying on the front row for the 1981 Indianapolis 500. An engine failure put the uniquely shaped machine out of the race early but a week later Mosely, starting last as a 'Promoter's Option', lapped the field in the John Ward designed 'BLAT' (Boundary Layer Adhesion Technology) Eagle in the Rex Mays 150 at Milwaukee to score the final victory for a pushrod stock block* engine in Indy Car racing history.  It was also the final Indy Car win for an AAR Eagle chassis.

It is said that the 'Pepsi Challenger' is Dan Gurney's favorite Eagle. We can understand why.

A Limited Edition 1/43 scale resin replica of the 'Pepsi Challenger' Eagle is being developed by Automodello. Only 192 examples will be produced. Each will be accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity hand signed by Dan Gurney.

This mesmerizing masterpiece will serve as a lasting tribute to the genius of Dan Gurney, the commitment of All American Racers, and the dedication to accurate scale replication from the team of skilled artisans at Automodello. To allow it to be enjoyed and viewed from a 360-degree angle on a daily basis, free of dust or accidental damage, it will therefore be packaged on a stylish plinth with a clear protective display cover.

*The Ilmor Mercedes Engine that won the 1994 Indianapolis 500 was not a 'stock block' but a purpose built pushrod engine. - PZ
